Our best advice from brides to our newly engaged couplees

We were lucky enough to be part of some amazing weddings in 2022. We had questions and they had answers. We asked 15 of our recent brides for some of their best advice on how to handle the wedding day. Read what they have to say below.

It was a beautiful but very stressful day. There were so many things I enjoyed, and a lot of moments I’m so glad we captured. But oh my, the day goes by so fast and you feel like you’re being pulled in so many directions by so many people. It was a lot. I wish I could have enjoyed it more with less drama. But high level, it was beautiful. One of the things I’ve always wanted was for my grandfather to walk me down the aisle. I’m so grateful to have had that special moment.

Take Wedding Pictures before the ceremony

Getting your bridesmaid’s and groomsmen’s pictures out of the way before the wedding can create so much extra time in your schedule. This allows for more time to spend with your guests, take couples photos before sunset, or enjoy your dinner and reception.

Take a Deep Breath

Wedding days fly by, and it will be over before you even get a chance to catch your breath. Take a few minutes to spend with your significant other Watch the sunset, hang out in the bridal suite. You are going to get pulled in so many different directions on your wedding day, the best thing you can do is embrace each other and enjoy the day because it’s just how you imagined.

Get a Videographer

We really wish we would have had you to capture our elopement last year too! We really regret not having a videographer there. You were awesome and we really can’t thank you enough for being so kind and warm-hearted and having the type of calming presence that we needed.

Actually, we have three to offer:

  • Don’t allow insignificant things that go wrong, ruin your day. Things will go wrong, but all that matters is the two of you!! Focus on your happiness.
  • If possible, schedule the day ahead (or 2 if it’s a large venue) to decorate, even if you have to pay twice!! I promise it’ll be worth it!!! So much less stress on the day of!! We are so glad we did it all the day before!
  • Hire a good photographer and videographer!! These are your memories!! We are lucky we had an amazing team of photographers and videographers!!!
